Testimonials

I appreciate the professional approach Elizabeth takes to career
counseling. When I began to update my resume and developing a strategy
for a career change, I looked for a career counselor to help me develop a
more appealing resume (it hadn't been updated in eight years). In my first
attempt, I found someone referenced in a career development book. I set
up an appointment with her, with the intention of getting a rewrite of my old
resume and getting some guidance on an effective approach for a job
search. The result of the meeting was a 15-20 minute discussion about
what she could offer in additional meetings. That meeting cost me $80. I
decided that perhaps this was not what I needed. Surprisingly, she referred
me to Elizabeth who offered an initial, free, consultation to determine what
she could do for me. Elizabeth rewrote my resume from the perspective of
a hiring manager, and helped me develop a more modern (Internet age)
search strategy. I would recommend Elizabeth based on price, level of
service and follow through. I will continue to use her services when they are
needed.

When I lost my long-time high-tech job due to corporate downsizing, it was
a catalyst to explore new avenues and career paths. My former employer
offered out-placement counseling, but I wanted to work with someone who
would focus me on a positive future path designed specifically for me.
While I greatly enjoyed the type of work I had done, I was no longer fulfilled
by the industry I had worked in. Through a series of tests and exercises,
Elizabeth honed in on my interests and motivated and helped me to
develop a job search target. She helped me to zero in on what I needed,
and has kept me fixed on that target. She was very good at helping me take
a step back and look at my skills in a different way. This focus enabled me
to better assess my value to employers and, in turn, helped boost my
confidence. Using her network of contacts, she was able to open doors for
me to get my credentials in front of people with the ability to hire. When the
calls began coming in for interviews, Elizabeth was there to strategize and
prepare me for them. Having a strategy for each interview and preparing for
questions I would be asked and questions I should ask were invaluable in
grounding me and giving me the necessary confidence to succeed in the
process. Elizabeth understands the whole client, both professionally and
personally. Her business experience, practical suggestions and varied
contacts are invaluable. Perhaps more importantly, she understands the
stresses, strains and other emotional forces that act on job seekers. When
I began doubting myself and my search approach, Elizabeth recognized the
signs and pro actively took steps that re-focused and re-energized me. She
goes all-out for her clients. I highly recommend her services.

It has been a privilege to have worked with Elizabeth. Her professional
advice and guidance throughout the career counseling is irreplaceable,
along with her extensive knowledge regarding today's industrial trends.
She has worked with many different industries and has a pulse on the
heartbeat of organizations around Portland. I was able to trust her with my
career and found that it was money well spent. People that work with her
will find her to be practical, intuitive, direct and sincere. Elizabeth has an in-
depth perspective on situations and is greatly committed to those she
works with. The best part was that I found work – quickly

Elizabeth goes far beyond the typical recruiter/staffing agency. She is
genuinely concerned with, and focused on, finding the right position in the
right company, to fit her client’s goals and desires. She takes her work
seriously and is dedicated to her client’s success. This is evident during
the many hours she will spend working to match her clients goals with her
significant industry contacts. Through her coaching, I ended up with
multiple jobs offers and got to choose where I wanted to be. This was a
real switch for me. Normally, I would be focused on my bills and my family,
and take whatever work was available. I learned that I have choices. I no
longer have to stay in a job that I don't like. I am able to make a job change
and get my career on the right track. The tools she gave me I will have for
life.

I was first introduced to Elizabeth through a series of lectures. She has
always brought some excellent insights which have been concise,
interesting and useful. But, more important then Elizabeth’s speaking
skills, I believe that she has a genuine desire to help and serve others. It is
these important qualities that give her such a high level of credibility and
effectiveness.

Although I was currently working, Elizabeth did a good job of bringing me
onto a privately held high tech firm. I really felt that she recognized my
strengths and acted as an effective advocate for me, something I often find
difficult. Being a natural introvert, I'm not comfortable in interviews. In
addition, she provided me with an honest assessment of the employer and
the situation. She did not oversell the position, but did paint an accurate
picture of what I was walking into, which helped me to decide on which job
to choose. I knew that even after I took the job she would be there for
support and help me navigate office politics, if need be.
