Unlike many other career books, this was not a dry plodding tome to plow through in the hopes of finding
something useful.  Elizabeth's open, conversational writing style drew me along easily and quickly and still the
information presented was both practical and thought-provoking.  With examples from her own life
experiences, she empowers the reader to take control of the job search process, keeping the focus on finding
a job that fits.

Elizabeth’s book, Recession Proof Yourself is well done. I love how it was written the same way she speaks in a
presentation. I found it to be very easy to read and it "grabbed" your attention so much that you didn't want to
put it down. I think it will be very helpful for our colleagues that are either unemployed and searching for a job
or employed and looking for a change.

Most of us have not been able to benefit from having a career coach, but this book is the next best thing.  As a
headhunter, the author sees the situation from both the employee and employer viewpoints.  How do you plan
a job search?  What will encourage a recipient of your resume to call you before many other applicants?
Giving notice and leaving on good terms.  Should you accept a counter-offer and not leave?  Tips on
negotiating a salary – it’s all there.
It’s easy to be depressed when downsizing includes you, but the author reminds you that you have the power
over your career.  That’s a welcome ego boost at a critical time
.
